Over 400 Join United Way
to Launch Annual Fall Campaign
The 2010 annual fundraising campaign officially kicked off Wednesday, September 1, 2010 with a Breakfast at the Villa Rosa, in Waterbury. Over 400 came out to show their support for United Way. Labor, company leaders, non-profit agencies, initiative partners and more were all represented.
Campaign Co-Chairs Peter Baker of Crystal Rock and Joe Gugliotti of Worx Branding & Advertising announced an ambitious campaign goal of 3.5 million dollars. Recognizing the challenges ahead, the co-chairs stated that now is not the time to shy away from our goal when the funds are needed so badly.
United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks for a better life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, income that can support a family through retirement and basic needs. Our goal is to create lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place.
