How to Apply | Camp Information

Campership Application Guidelines
 

Applications Available:

March 24 - June 2
Applications available at the UW weekdays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm
or
Waterbury YMCA weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Call 203-754-2181

Note:

UW will not mail out applications to individuals.

Residence:

Must live in Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Woodbury, Wolcott

Income:

  • Household income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. This is based on household income and the number of people in the household.
  • Proof of income should be submitted with the campership application: Two most recent pay stub, state ID number and information on benefits received, child support
  • Parent's Social Security number
  • Children in Foster Care - foster family income waived

Other important facts:

  • Priority is given to those who have not received a campership in the past
  • Camperships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • Siblings are awarded together if possible
  • Select your first and second choice of camps
  • If the child is eligible, the assigned camp will contact the family directly.
  • If the child is ineligible, they will receive a letter stating why from the United Way
  • Check details under Camp Information above for each camp
  • Call camp to verify transportation
  • Current physical required by camps. Submit forms to camp, not with the campership application
