Campership Application Guidelines

March 24 - June 2
Applications available at the UW weekdays between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm

Note:
UW will not mail out applications to individuals.
Residence:
Must live in Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Woodbury, Wolcott
Income:
- Household income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. This is based on household income and the number of people in the household.
- Proof of income should be submitted with the campership application: Two most recent pay stub, state ID number and information on benefits received, child support
- Parent's Social Security number
- Children in Foster Care - foster family income waived
Other important facts:
- Priority is given to those who have not received a campership in the past
- Camperships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis
- Siblings are awarded together if possible
- Select your first and second choice of camps
- If the child is eligible, the assigned camp will contact the family directly.
- If the child is ineligible, they will receive a letter stating why from the United Way
- Check details under Camp Information above for each camp
- Call camp to verify transportation
- Current physical required by camps. Submit forms to camp, not with the campership application
