Senior Support

The United Way of Greater Waterbury recently helped facilitate a donation of adult incontinence products at the request of the the Waterbury Senior Center. UConn Health Waterbury Hospital quickly answered the call to support local seniors, while United Way helped coordinate pathways toward longer-term solutions.

Far too many seniors in our community are struggling to make ends meet while facing rising costs for housing, utilities, food, transportation, and medications. Incontinence products are not a luxury. They are an essential health and wellness need that is often not covered by insurance.

Strong community partnerships and responsive leadership continue to make a meaningful difference for our seniors and families. United Way gained much insight from our conversations with the Senior Center and are exploring additional ways to connect seniors to the support services needed to remain an active part of our community.
