To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) has partnered with Code for America to run a digital VITA on-line service at GetYourRefund.org/CAHS-CT. The Get Your Refund platform is a safe and secured online system that has been vetted and approved by the IRS which will provide the same quality services as our in-person VITA sites. Taxpayers answer intake questions and upload tax documents on GetYourRefund.org/CAHS-CT as shown in the video above. Our IRS trained and certified VITA Volunteers will remotely prepare the tax returns, speak with the taxpayers to review their returns, and file the returns with taxpayers’ consent.

Tax appointments can be made by dialing 2-1-1 selecting 3, then 6. A kiosk (in person) option will be offered at Silas Bronson Library in Waterbury and Waterbury Youth Services by appointment only for those that would like assistance with uploading their tax documents to the Get Your Refund platform.

The Greater Waterbury Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Coalition, includes United Way of Greater Waterbury, United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls, City of Waterbury, Connecticut Community Foundation and Waterbury non-profit agencies and is coordinated by the Connecticut Association for Human Services.
